Where does the time go?
The project Where does the time go? took place in the homes of three elderly subjects.
I discussed my ideas with them and explained what I hoped to accomplish.
I'm fascinated by WWII history, and there are not many of that generation left to tell us about it.
I wanted to find out what role my subjects had played in the war, and produce images within their current environment, not just of loneliness and fragility but a little piece of themselves and their identities within.
The photographs contrast the juxtaposition of young and old by incorporating a younger version of themselves within some images. Converting them to black and white helped age the photographs and made the narrative visually compelling.
